Duke of Manchester is accused of being a bigamist twice over after marrying wife no.2 and wife no.3 while still married to wife no.1

From:  Daily Mail

COMMENT -  Well, you can't say Alex is inconsistent.  And it is nice to see Marion standing up for truth about Alex.

  • Marion Stoner married Duke of Manchester in 1984 but they split soon after
  • Only divorced in 1996 but he was then already married to Wendy Buford
  • He later also divorced Ms Buford and married his current wife Laura Smith
  • Now Ms Stoner claims their divorce was void as he forged his signature on paperwork

The first wife of the Duke of Manchester has claimed her former husband has twice committed bigamy after he forged their divorce papers and wed his second and third wives while still married to her.

Marion Stoner tied the knot with the Australian-born Duke in Melbourne in 1984 but separated months later after he allegedly fired a speargun at her.

He then went on to marry his second wife, Californian law firm receptionist Wendy Buford in 1993, despite not divorcing Ms Stoner and they were only legally separated in 1996.  MORE

    1. Hi Ben! Glad you checked in. Alex is a danger to everyone he comes across - and I agree with your feelings for Marion, Wendy and even Laura. And the two kids are certainly fortunate they have their mother, Wendy. What I'm curious about is where Alex and Laura are living now. Their abrupt disappearance had an interesting timing with other events taking place on the other sites. When Alex mentioned someone having bought them a home I initially dismissed the comment. But it may be true. Dan O'Dowd certainly has the money, in his pocket change, to have done this and it would have provided some stability - as long as Alex can't sell the house or otherwise use it for illegal purposes. Where is Willoughby, that is the question! Be well! Melinda

    1. Hi Ben, This is all supposition. The Manchesters have, however, seemed to be stable and quiet. This is a change from their normal pattern of behavior. Laura loved finding information on the Manchesters so she seems to be content.

We don't know who will inherit the title. It could be Alex Jr., too. From everything Wendy told me he is a stable and productive young man. The Australian part of the family also seems stable. A relief to everyone, I am sure.

    1. That is what I thought. But evidently there are ways this could happen. I just hope whatever happens it helps them heal as a family.
