The Life of Alexander, 13th Duke of Manchester 

This narrative uses articles, documents from courts, letters, emails, and other objective evidence to illustrate the life and values of Alexander Charles David Drogo Montagu.  Of late, someone posting on a site out of Pennsylvania has attempted to rebuild the reputation Alex managed to destroy over a lifetime of ugly and larcenous behavior.  Here, we give you the truth with refutations of the outrageous assertions being made by a shadowy entity pretending to be Alex who calls himself - Mancunium
 

1984 - 1985 - History of marriage, first convictions, and entry into public life as Viscount of Mandeville at the death of his uncle, then Duke of Manchester on June 5, 1985. 

QUESTION: Is Alexander a public figure? Arguably, yes, in some limited sense. 

1986 - 1992 - Alex is released from prison, leaves Australia, where he was born, and travels the world occasionally showing up in the news.

Marital History 

1984 - First Marriage -  Marion Johanna Stoner -  The Stoner Story 

        March 
                17 - Alex Montagu Manchester marries Marion Johanna Stoner, the  never married
                  mother of two.    Marriage Certificate
        May 
               21 - Alex Montagu Manchester and Marion Johanna Montagu are separated after
                  incidents of violence directed against her children from her previous relationship
                  and her self.  Complaint, filed September 5th.  Police report filed.  

August 31, 1984        - Application for Separation

September 6, 1984   - Transcript of Proceedings

September 19, 1964 - Court Order extending previous order of court, made September 6th
                                    until the 2nd of October. 

October 2, 1984         - Court Order October 2, 1984  Alexander is restrained from
                                    molesting, assaulting, abusing, intimidating, harassing or in any way
                                    interfering  with the wife.  
Divorce takes place in 1996, making the second marriage bigamous.

                        9 - Papers are filed for Montagu v. Stoner divorce 
                              Application for Non-Payment of Filing Fees  
           September 
                       27 -Alex, at the insistence of his mother, Lady Mary Montagu, agrees to
                          cooperate in a  divorce from his first wife, Marion Stoner Montagu. He has
                          been bigamously married to Wendy Buford Montagu for over three years.
                             Although ordered to do so by his mother Alex does not repair matters and
                          remarry Wendy.

1993 - Second Marriage  -  Wendy Dawn Buford 

             May
                   7 -Viscount Mandeville marries Wendy Buford, with whom he has been 
                   living for some time.  The couple are already engaged.  Wedding takes place at 211
                  W. Santa Ana Blvd., Santa Ana, 92701 Orange County, California.  A business
                  associate  of   Alex’s, John McDonald, acted as witness.  Marriage Certificate
 Alexander initiates a divorce in December of 2006.  The couple have two children, Alex, Jr., born in 1993 and Ashley born in 1999.  



2006  
   December -  Early in the month - Legal Separation documents are served on Wendy.

                The couple are still living together as man and wife on Prescott Street, Aliso Viejo,                 CA.  Papers were issued 16th November 2006.

2007  
         January                 
                   5 - Call to Wendy's workplace. Alex phoned her work and informed the other
                      receptionist that he had issued a restraining order against her. This was followed
                      up with a call from the sheriffs’ department that this action had been filed and 
                      she would be required to appear in court and answer to these charges. 

                          Alex’s claimed she had chased him around the house with a knife. 

                          Wendy was immediately evaluated by court appointed counselors to 
                       determine if she was a fit mother. It was determined that she could have 
                       unsupervised visitations with the children during the divorce proceedings. 

                          During the divorce all of the exchanges with the children were at the police 
                      station.

         August - Judge hears all the reports from CPS, the 730 evaluator and the
                           psychologist.
                                 CPS indicated that they had observed one of the worst cases of Parental
                        Alienation they had seen. 
                      23 - Alex lost physical custody of the children.

                      30 - Marriage between Wendy and Alex Montagu is dissolved, with some issues
                          reserved.
                                 The children are sent them to Wendy with nothing but the pajama’s they
                          were wearing.

The Manchester Divorce Reality
    This article includes Alex's emails to Wendy during the time the divorce he initiated was going on. These reveal Alex's motives.  He wanted Wendy to pay alimony and child support at a time when he had nearly a million dollars in the bank from the sale of the Manchester Jewels.  His records were subpoenaed and he was confronted with them in court and his lies exploded in his face, one after another.  


2007 - Third Marriage - Laura Ann Smith
              September
                      21 - Alex marries Laura Ann Smith, a spinster in her 40s whose father was
                             a farmer in Michigan, where she grew up.
             As of May, 2014 the couple are still married, there there have been a number of 
             separations and are living in Las Vegas.

Alexander claims to assets which were long since lost.  A previous generation, taking note of the unbridled spending established Trusts to ensure the preservation of some assets. 

 Alexander was not responsible for all of these losses, but the bald fact is the fabulous wealth once associated with the Manchester title no longer exists.
